Social Media Strategist

As a Social Media Strategist for Bowling Green State University (BGSU), I have created content for Instagram, FaceBook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter (X), Threads and YouTube. This content led to a 37% growth during a record breaking year for enrollment at the university. My Primary responsibilities in this role have included staying up to date with social media strategy, best practices and audience sentiment related to current events. I have created timely โ€œin-the-momentโ€ content during high impact social and athletic events. These events have included collaborating with departments across campus to help them tell their story of impact.

Sprout Social

Using this social media tool we can decide what platform, date and time for each post. This gives us the availability to research each post's analytics and performance after it is posted. Along with this, we monitor social using Sproutโ€™s โ€œinboxโ€ feature. Here we can see everything the public posts about BGSU on the internet, positive or negative. This information is then given to BGSU Admissions, Alumni Association, Marketing and Brand Strategy, Residence Life, Student Engagement and Athletics. These departments can then see what the public is discussing in regards to the University.
